The long way to becoming the dream home for Sarah and Kimo Bertram started on in Sausalito where the house-boat has been envisioned by the creative minds from Robert Nebolon Architects together with general contractor Bart Elmer. The duo came up with the idea of nesting the structure in a boxlike concrete barge that not only protects it from the marine climate but also provides keel-like stability — a much needed feature on water.
With large and flowing spaces ergonomic décor and innovative lighting House Tat floors you with its distinct and dazzling look. Lighting plays a pivotal role in highlighting and elevating the interiors of most homes conceptualized and brought to life by Nico van der Meulen Architects. This signature style is pretty evident in House Tat as well as large pendant lights recessed lighting and track lighting combine to add a warm and inviting charm to the residence.
A refreshing pool ergonomic modern kitchen and luxurious bathrooms complete the home. in the bedroom and large floor-to-ceiling glass windows employed throughout offer unabated views at all times while bringing in a sense of light and airy freshness.
With a rather elegant blue and white exterior (finished in highly durable fluoropolymer paint) the 2100-square-foot home doesn’t even hint at the fantastic interior that you see upon entering. The design strikes with colorful additions that bring life and define the its personality. Everything has a contemporary touch starting with the open space living room the bright kitchen design and finishing with a stunning dining area.
But probably the most interesting feature of the bathroom is the bath tub that is “wrapped oh-so-neatly with a quartz composite deck and apron so that it looks like a simple block of white”.
