With the majestic Pacific making up the backyard quite literally this Malibu house indeed is an absolute dream. In fact the ocean gently rushes underneath the cantilevered home during high tide. Large glass windows in the living room and the bedroom offer unabated views of the ocean which is just a few steps away. And what does all this opulence and extravagance cost?
Original front elevation of the home was kept intact while incorporating brand new interiors that included two new upper level extensions that provided private quarters for the adults and the children separately. While the stylish lower level sports a living space that is connected visually with the backyard and a dining area the top floors house the bedrooms which offer lovely views along with ample privacy.
The stylish residence sports an open floor living plan with the kitchen dining area and the living space all connected visually. Though large glass windows ensure that it opens up towards the ocean the entrance is gated and includes a large courtyard that blocks any prying eyes.
The interiors are kept largely neutral in white and gray with a bright red accent couch in the living space stealing the show. Stylish use of skylights make sure there is appropriate natural light even in the private areas while an expansive deck to the north allows the residents to be at one with the bamboo and Japanese maple backdrop. A beautiful wooden staircase connects the lower level with the top floors and a concrete path above the water surface in the backyard makes for a cool walkway.
And when everything inside is beautifully decorated the outdoors is simply a mirror of the inhabitant’s care for both interior and exterior appeal. This balance between the beauty of interior spaces and an outdoor zone where man-made and natural colors meet is unequaled.
